XP-PEN Deco Mini 7 Pen Tablet
There are lots of different pen tablets and pen displays in the market to choose from like Wacom, Huion, Xencelabs, Gaomon to mention a few but somehow I ended up purchasing an XP-PEN Deco Mini 7 instead.
Aside from good reviews from other users it's much cheaper if you can avail their promo sale like I did and was able to purchase it with a greater discount from Shopee through their official store.
If you want more to get some cashback from your online purchase you should try out installing the Shopback app as it supports number of online stores that you may choose from, check this quick guide (here).
Going back to our Unboxing topic let's jump into it and see what's inside the box, while for the full specifications you may visit direct here for complete details or may refer at the back of the box itslef.
Just take note that this is a "Pen Tablet" which you won't see your drawings from the surface work area but rather have your inputs in your pc or android screen unlike those "Pen Displays" where you directly draw and see the inputs on your tablet screen itself.
Just to clarify "pen tablets or graphics tablet" without display and rely on your pc/android monitor while "pen display or drawing tablets" with display while you draw on your tablet.
The Box
The Deco Mini 7 Pen tablet comes in one box containing the pen tablet, manuals and accessories inside.
Front
Back
You'll get inside is the pen tablet which comes first once you open the box with a sealed plastic covering or packaging that gives you the assurance that it's truly brand new item.
Nothing much to see at the back portion of the pen tablet but just some non slip rubber pads that would keep your tablet in place when placed on top of your desk or table.
Manuals and warranty with battery free stylus pen, pen clipper and 10 free nibs, USB adapters and USB cable included inside.
That's pretty much what is inside and nothing much to expect as you have to purchase separately if you need to have some drawing gloves, some screen protector and casing if you will be carrying this pen tablet with you.
The Pen
Nicely built and light with two buttons that you may customize when you connect to your pc, just be reminded on the warnings ahead from the pen packaging not to drop off and twist the cap if you want to keep your pen's usage longer.
Comes in a 90 degree angle compared to the usual cables that is vertically aligned when you plug to designated ports.
The USB Type A for your pc or laptop ports (also for your adapters to connect with your android phone) while for the USB-C will go to your pen tablet port, this tablet only have a single port near the short cut keys buttons.
Comes with two pieces adapters, one for a micro USB type and a USB-C to your android device or to your USB-C supported laptop in case you have limited number of USB Type A ports to use.
Extra NIBS
You'll get extra 10pcs of nibs which is very generous for XP-PEN to include in the packaging but most likely you will seldom replace one unless you're a heavy user or have the default nib from pen broken.
Maybe just got lucky and got 11 nibs instead of the 10pcs as advertised.
The metal ring type "pen clipper" would be your tool to pull and replace the nib to your stylus pen.
ITEMS SOLD SEPARATELY
You may wish to add up to your purchase the following which are not included in this model unit. Pen tablet stand is not required as this is more directly placed on a flat surface as you draw like drawing on paper but this time looking at your monitor or to your android screen.
Glove
Need some gloves while you draw then you may get it separately as this is not included in the packaging for this model unlike from other pen tablets or pen displays which comes with a drawing glove.
Screen Protector
If you just want some extra protection to your pen tablet to avoid unnecessary scratches while you draw then you may get a 1 box film protector that comes in two pieces inside for this type of model.
If you're the type of person who loves to carry along with you the pen tablet then you may consider adding up to your cart with their designated sleeve case that suits perfectly your Deco Mini 7 tablet.
PC/LAPTOP CONNECTION
For first time users of XP-PEN units you need first to download the compatible drivers that is designated to your Operating System (here).
Once you installed the drivers simply plug in your pen tablet to be recognized.
PEN TABLET CONFIGURATION
You may now explore and do some customization on your pen tablet settings on screen, pen and shortcut keys for your buttons.

ANDROID CONNECTION
Simply use the type of adapter for your android device and connect with the pen tablet, open the app like FlipaClip, MediBang, Ibis Paint then activate the stylus pen on the app settings and you are good to go.
Be sure to follow the manual orientation of tablet and android device to work properly and not have your lines be drawn the opposite direction.
It works fine with FlipaClip in android device (Poco X3 Pro) and old Photoshop CS3 in Windows 7 and Inkscape in laptop device, the battery free pen stylus was able to work with these app and program.
If you prefer a wireless pen tablet, they also have the deco mini7W as alternative same as the regular deco mini7 but twice the price.
XP-PEN Deco mini7W (Wireless)
Notice of slight change of package design text as the wireless text and logo vertically aligned whereas the regular deco mni 7 horizontally placed with the image angled at opposite directions.
If you decide to get the wireless unit you won't get confused just look for the logo bottom left corner and of course the letter "W".
